Pros: Access your VMs through one locked down, hardened jumphost. Currently using Checkpoint Cloudguard and in the process of finishing configuration, but with a public IP address it should still be accessible. Improve this answer. The error message say "The site cant be reached". I have created a new vm, which i am able to access via rdp and have setup iis, which is accessialbe via the internal ip address. Under the Azure Dashboard, I clicked on the VM entry, then under its options I scrolled down to Networking. There I created a new inbound rule, for port Worked for me!

 

Using putty to SSH does not connect. Tested with IP Flow showed no issues. Did a redeploy of the VM. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.IT Thanks for sharing the update.

 

Thanks to @msrini-MSFT, I've figured it out that the Azure VM was not set up to listen to the private IP. The solution, in this particular case.There any troubleshoot for this situation?

I have managed to resolve it myself.

 

Luckily there are some great solutions like Just-In-Time VM Access without risking port scanning and brute force attacks.

 

Hackers are always searching for vulnerabilities via ports connected to public IP addresses.

Azure Load Balancer will not route traffic to backends that are not reporting healthy via the Health Probesso make sure your backend is healthy.
